Before carpet cleaning, whether you are doing it yourself or if you’ve hired a carpet cleaning company, there are a few steps to get the area prepared:
* pick up all area rugs and mats
*remove items from under beds and from inside closets, if the carpets are being cleaned in there
* pick up all small items off the carpet
* remove all small items that are on furniture that will be moved
* move all light furniture from the room
* open windows for cross ventilation and have fans ready to set up
* if you are not able to open lots of windows, turn on your heat or air conditioner _________________ houston maid service |

If you have small furniture that can be easily moved to another area of your home which is not scheduled to be cleaned such as light chairs or end tables, go ahead and remove these items. Part of the reason we move small furnishings is that the damp carpet can draw paint and wood stains from the legs of colored furniture into your freshly cleaned carpet. Also, pinning or tying up curtains, drapes and upholstery skirts at least 6 inches from the carpet helps to ensure the best clean and prevent unintentional damage from bleeding fabrics. If you have small children or pets, please have a plan in place. |
